innovAGEING National Challenge: Rethinking Aged Care Workforce

24 and 25 October 2022

With our Foundation Partners, the Commonwealth Bank and KPMG Australia, we will be delivering our second innovAGEING National Challenge hackathon in Sydney this October.

The innovAGEING National Challenge is held over two days:
  • 24 October: Ideation and business plan canvas workshops, and a sector panel discussion.
  • 25 October: Hackathon event
Why should I take part in it?

The innovation imperative in the age services industry is clearly pressing as providers respond to market challenges and sector reforms.

Innovators need to collaborate with institutional and incumbent organisations in order to scale-up and grow, to deliver quality support to older Australians, whilst meeting consumer expectations.

The innovAGEING National Challenge gives participants access to the innovation knowledge and expertise of the Commonwealth Bank, Australia’s leading provider of integrated financial services, and KPMG Australia, an international professional services firm.

Combined with innovAGEING’s links to the age services industry, the resource and network access for participants is unprecedented.

Potential focus areas for projects may include
(but not limited to) the following:
  • Value chain innovations that allow staff to work better.
  • Development and application of digital tools to allow staff more time to care.
  • Care models that allow staff better quality of life.
  • Programs that foster more meaningful career experiences.
  • Initiatives to attract and retain staff.
The top three winning teams will receive a cash prize of:
  • $2,000 for 1st place
  • $1,000 for 2nd place
  • $500 for 3rd place

How many people are in the team, and how are teams formed?

You can nominate a team of between 2- 4 people for the innovAGEING National Challenge. Your team will be supported by at least one Commonwealth Bank and/or KPMG Australia team member, and possibly, if needed, a developer and/or designer.

Do I need to come with an idea?

No you don’t, although if you do have an idea or two that’s a great start. The Challenge workshops on 24 October will support you to identify and develop ideas. Our registration form will ask for a proposed idea, this is merely indicative, and you can change your project idea.

How will I find out more?
